As every year and following the company’s commitment to reduce emissions already started in July 2014, Pere Valls, S.A. has voluntarily compensated all direct and indirect CO2 emissions controllable (water and waste) generated this past 2022, a total of 323 tonnes of CO2. This environmental commitment is being developed for the seventh consecutive year.
Part 1 of the photovoltaic installation progresses. This project started during the mont of April consists of 4 parts, of which the frist is about to end.
PERE VALLS, S.A. communicates that it has voluntarily calculated its carbon footprint and has offset for the fifth consecutive year the CO2 emissions generated in 2020. This calculation of the Carbon Footprint has been verified by the Applus certifier following the ISO 14064-1 standard for scopes 1 (direct emissions, derived from the consumption of fossil fuels, biomass and fugitive emissions of fluorinated gases), scope 2 (indirect emissions derived from the consumption of electrical energy) and scope 3 (indirect emissions derived from the consumption of water and waste management generated).
Obtaining this certification deepens the company's environmental commitment as it did a few months ago with obtaining EMAS certification.

Last Tuesday, June 4th, Jordi Valls assisted as a speaker in the technical journey: "Energy eficiency, renewable and saving for the company" organized by Unió Empreserial de l'Anoia and helded in Igualada.
Last Friday, April 12th, Jordi Valls assisted as speaker in the biomass technical journey: "Forest biomass impulse for thermal use in the industrial sector of Vallès" helded in Barbarà del Vallès.
Last Saturday, December 1st, the official inauguration of the mill wheel took place, after finishing its restoration in the last months. An open day was held for workers and family members, suppliers, companies in the sector and local administration. During the month of November, the installation and the corresponding training with CARDIOSOS has been carried out to the personnel involved in the emergency plan, in basic life support topics with the automated external defibrillator. The Catalan Office for Climate Change publishes the compensation made by PERE VALLS, S.A. in a totally voluntary way, of CO2 emissions generated in 2017. So that the company is considered carbon neutral, for the second consecutive year.
During the month of August, PERE VALLS, S.A. has made a considerable investment replacing the previous manual system of transmission of the paper machine, to a system of automatic multi-motor drive SIEMENS, as technical improvement of industrial safety, production and energy efficiency.

Unió Empresarial de l'Anoia has created a Circular Economy Working Group composed of representatives of paper, chemical, fertilizers, textile, environmental consultancies and the Igualada Engineering School (EEI). ASPAPEL publishes in its November bulletin that PERE VALLS is already a carbon neutral company because it has voluntarily compensated all the CO2 emissions generated in 2016, both the direct ones corresponding to the consumption of natural gas, as well as the indirect ones. Through this compensation made on October 20 through the European System of Negotiation of CO2 (SENDECO), PERE VALLS can claim that it is a "carbon neutral" company and that it remains faithful to its environmental policy of respecting the environment, offering the better return.
